Home Scents Ltd develops and produces efficient, eco- logical and sustainable products for Home and Family including Violet's 100% natural Laundry range and Little Violet's Natural Toiletries for baby and child. We are a preferred supplier to Green Tourism. We use natural ingredients from sustainable sources in our manufacturing process and we are efficient and environmentally responsible in our use of energy sources.  All our products are ultra-concentrated to reduce production, packaging & storage. We do not use any petro-chemicals or synthetic chemicals which are harmful to the environment and people. We are committed to reuse, recycle and minimize waste, and we continually assess and review our environmental strategy. Staff are encouraged to maintain a high level of awareness of environmental issues. This includes having a responsible attitude towards production, dispatch and office and this has a beneficial  effect on working conditions and taking an interest in the environment. We are based in a region of Northumberland which is an area of strong commitment to the environment. We use bottles that are readily recyclable and include a message to "recycle” to all our customers with each order and on our websites.

 Green Tourism

 We are a preferred supplier to GTBS.

The GTBS is the national sustainable tourism certification scheme for the UK. Originally developed in partnership with Visit Scotland, it is now the only certification scheme validated by Visit Britain, through the International Centre for Responsible Tourism (ICRT). "GTBS provides excellent value for money to a wide range of tourism firms with first class environmental advice and auditing.

 Products

 All products from Home Scents Ltd are eco friendly and do not use any hazardous or chemical ingredients. We supply Green hotels and self catering  with environmentally friendly cleaning, laundry and handwash products.  Vegan certification ensures no animal testing, no animal or GM ingredients and ethical  sourcing.

 Travel

 Company policy is to use the following wherever possible and practicable, including for travel to and from normal places of work:

 ·         Public transport in preference to private cars and taxis

·         Trains in preference to air travel (where overall cost and time taken is reasonable)

·         Video and telephone conferencing in preference to travelling to meetings (where practicable and effective)

 Energy

Green Energy Tariffs are used by Home Scents. Energy consuming services at company premises, particularly for heating and cooling, are monitored and inefficient provision of such services is reported to the landlord.

 We controlled our manufacturing processes to  reduce energy and water consumption.

 Lights, printers, equipment and computers are turned off overnight and when not in use.   

 Emails and fax are used in preference to post.

 Recycling

 Paper, Plastic, Glass, Printer toners and other consumable products are recycled.

·         Home Scents Ltd protects security of information by shredding documents

·         Re-cycle and re-use boxes and packaging received from suppliers.

·         Use eco-friendly infill and bubble wrap.
